ACHIEVING PERSONAL GROWTH

Meet the Doctors

Individual Therapy
Child, Teen and Adult Therapy

Individual therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client that aims to facilitate change and improve quality of life. Therapy can help people confront barriers that interfere with emotional and mental well-being, and it can also increase positive feelings such as compassion, self-esteem, love, courage, and peace. Many people find they enjoy the therapeutic journey of becoming more self-aware, and they may pursue ongoing psychotherapy as a means of self-growth and self-actualization.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a type of psychotherapy designed to identify family patterns that contribute to family distress. Family therapy involves discussion and problem-solving sessions with the family. Some of these sessions may be as a group, in couples, or one on one. In family therapy, the interpersonal relationships are examined and, ideally, communication is strengthened within the family.  The goal is to decrease interpersonal conflict and behavioral problems.

Psychological Testing

Psychological tests offer a formal way to measure traits, feelings, beliefs and abilities that can lead to people's problems. Some tests assess the presence of certain conditions, such as depression, anxiety, anger control or attention deficits. Other tests measure general well being and provide an overall picture of a person's personality. A typical psychological assessment includes a clincial interview and more formal psychological tests. The person may be able to complete some tests on his own; others may be completed with an examiner.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is for couples who are in a relationship, married or not.

It is often referred to as marriage counseling. The goal of couples therapy is to improve the couples' relationship. Although the focus of couples therapy is on the couple, there are times when the individual psychological issues of one or both parties need to be addressed.

Therapy often includes sessions designed to improve problem solving, build communication skills, and identify life goals and relationship responsibilities. Other common issues include infidelity, financial problems, illness and other life changes, and anger.
